DAYBOOK ENTRY FOR TODAY, MONDAY, APRIL 20, 2009…
Outside my window… It was sunny when I first woke up this morning, but now it’s cloudy and getting ready to rain. I don’t really mind. The grass is getting so green, it almost hurts my eyes! I love spring, and I guess it takes “April showers” to get “May flowers.”
I am thinking… about how to get to know more of my neighbors. We’ve been taking walks in the evening, and that helps. Now that I’ve met some people, what can I do to develop these friendships? (Then share the gospel…)
I am thankful for… God’s blessings. I’ve been reading in my Bible about some of the specific ways God blesses us. Some have been a surprise! God is very good.
From the learning rooms… We’ve been studying the kings of Judah and Israel. Next week we’ll start the Assyrians. Daddy helped the middle ones make a volcano for science. It’s going to blow up today! (I really don’t enjoy science experiments. Praise God for Dads!)
From the kitchen… The Feast of Unleavened Bread is over, so my sourdough starter is brewing on my counter top. YUM, YUM, YUM!!!!
I am wearing… a jean skirt, a cream-colored shirt, and a brown knit sweater that I forgot I had. It was hiding among the hangers, and I “discovered” it again this morning. Soft….
I am creating… my e-book on women and fatigue. Still going… Nothing can stop the Energizer Bunny…
I am going… to a Truth Project training day with my husband this Saturday in Des Moines — IF I can find a babysitter!
I am reading… The Stress of Life, by Hans Selye. I feel sorry for my husband. This is a really medical book, and I keep interrupting Kraig with, “Oh, Honey, did you know that…!?” He humors me….
I am hearing… my kids finish eating their breakfast. We had German Pancakes this morning, a recipe given to us by my aunt many years ago. Mmmm…
Around the house… My husband is putting the finishing touches on my desk, then I’m going to paint it white.
One of my favorite things… eating fresh sourdough bread. Will that starter hurry up?
A few plans for the rest of the week… writing, web design, a little cleaning in my basement, laundry, church activities, walks with my neighbors and family, break making, a little shopping.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing…
