Today I am joining up with a meme from the Simple Woman’s Daybook, because I thought it would be a fun way for me to share a little about my life each week.
FOR TODAY, MONDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2009…
Outside my window… The sun is just coming up, there is smoke rising from all the chimneys, we have several inches of fresh snow everywhere, but today looks like it will be bright and beautiful. (It is -2 degrees.)
I am thinking… about all the things I want to accomplish today.
I am thankful for… my husband. He preached an amazing sermon on marriage last night from Genesis 2:18-25, and I’m so thankful he practices what he preaches!
From the learning rooms… we don’t do school on Mondays, but I’ll be looking at homeschooling curriculum for next year today. So fun!
From the kitchen… we’re planning to have waffles for breakfast. I’m eager to try some homemade apple syrup given to me by a friend at church yesterday, and my husband gave me a waffle iron for my birthday.
I am wearing… sweat pants and a sweat shirt, but I’m not dressed for the day yet.
I am creating… the handout for my health class this Wednesday.
I am going… to go pay the garbage bill today. I misplaced the bill, and I’d better get up there and find out what I owe!
I am reading… The Most Important Person on Earth, by Myles Munroe.
I am hoping… to get our guest room completely unpacked and set up today, so Karis will have it ready when she visits in a few weeks.
I am hearing… the sound of my oldest daughter as she puts away clean dishes in the kitchen and begins to make coffee. Mmm…
Around the house… I have seed catalogs strewn all over the coffee table. I can’t wait for spring!
One of my favorite things… is to listen to music, so I think I’ll go put some on.
A few plans for the rest of the week… we’re going to a hockey game up in Hayfield, plus I’m excited to meet some new people when we visit a farm later this week.
Here is picture thought I am sharing… this is an outfit I saw recently at Coldwater Creek, and I think it’s pretty because it looks like spring.

It’s Spring here….and I got my rose bushes cleaned out and trimmed last week, I need to get more done tho…what kinds of seeds do you have?

I have no seeds yet. Just catalogs. We moved into this home a few weeks ago, and I have a black thumb… but I’m working on that!!! 🙂

Anne, welcome to the Daybook. I really enjoyed your entry. Waffles are the most popular breakfast item in the home, here now. I finally got one for Christmas and our kitchen hasn’t been without batter since! :o) Enjoy that Apple syrup it sounds delish!
i love coldwater creek! and i love that skirt!! i am trying to find a pancake/waffle syrup that doesn’t have all the “junk” in it. give me your friend’s recipe lol~smile~

Her “syrup” is simply homemade jelly that didn’t set up properly. It’s runny, so it makes perfect “syrup.” Rather high in sugar still. Not sure what to do about that. But no high-fructose corn syrup or natural flavorings. Delicious….
What a fun share! I like the format of it. And you’re already doing better than me if you’re in sweats…if I’m home, I’m lucky to get out of pjs!
