That I May Know Christ
These verses sum up my feelings about this blog more than any others. I struggle inside for you, my readers. I might not have ever visited your homes, but I visit your Facebook pages. I read your emails and comments. I discuss your problems with my husband, struggling to come up with solutions for you, solutions that are based on God’s Word. I pray for you daily.
Just as Paul writes to the Colossian believers, I want you also to know that my purpose is that you will be encouraged in heart and united in love. I know from my own life (and from God’s Word) that true peace comes only from Jesus. When I try to run my life my own way, often listening to the voices coming at me from every side, I come up poor and hurting. When I live my life in my Savior, however, I am strengthened and made rich.
Principles of Decluttering
As we pass into the middle of summer, I wanted to start a series of blog posts on clutter and how to calm it. As I see it, you might have a little more time or energy right now to step back from your daily routine, to evaluate what’s not working in your home, and to clear out all the junk. As we approach fall, we’ll take a look at daily scheduling in a larger family, to help us all ease back into the tighter routines of school.
First, let’s look at the basic principles of decluttering. You see, whether you’re cleaning out your purse or organizing six different grades of homeschooling, the principles are the same. Mull over these this week, then next time we’ll get more specific. First, let’s look at how I declutter a room.
