Outside my window… It’s a rainy spring-like day here in Minnesota. It’s cool and breezy, and everything is SO green. I have to say… even with the rain, the weather here is gorgeous! It doesn’t seem fair that we live in a place with such great weather in June.
I am thinking… That it was really dumb to stay up so late yakking last night with Kraig… but it was fun, too!
I am thankful for… good friends. When I need to talk, a friend is a listener. A friend gives wise advice that matches God’s Word. A friend prays for me. A friend is honest. A friend is understanding. I’m so thankful to have several real friends like this! 🙂
From the learning rooms… We finished up our science for the year, and that feels so nice. Now we’re wrapping up history with a few books from the library about ancient Babylon and Persia.
From the kitchen… We’re eating a LOT of salads this week, which I must be honest, are not my favorite food. But my husband has come up with some unique ways to fix them, and I’m living. However, late at night, this pregnant mom has been cooking up spinach with butter and plenty of salt. Tastes so good! Oh, my husband has also been playing with adding liquid stevia to smoothies and other desserts. So far, so yummy.
I am wearing… a spring-like yellow shirt, in an attempt to bring a little sunshine into our day. (And as I type, the sunshine is trying to peek through the clouds. Ahhh…)
I am creating… a seminar for the August “Heart of the Matter” online homeschooling conference. I’m also learning how to use Adobe Illustrator in a 10-week online class. Someday maybe what I’m learning will show up in some new homeschooling curriculum. Maybe… someday…
I am going… to several different activities at church this week. Otherwise, I’m planning to be a literal “stay-at-home” mom this week.
I am reading… Terri Blackstock’s Cape Refuge, plus I just finished up reading Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House series. I’m enjoying reading fiction this month, giving my brain a break from non-fiction.
I am hearing… my youngest playing with toy dishes and the sound of my second-youngest munching an apple. The dog is whining because she needs to go outside.
Around the house… our basement has been getting wet with all the rain, so I have some mopping to do. It is also inspiring me to finish unpacking (finally) the rest of the the kids’ craft boxes and my sewing stuff, so that that corner of the basement looks more neat and tidy.
One of my favorite things… spinach, pickles, green olives… I must be pregnant!
A few plans for the rest of the week… oh, I need to make a list. It’s only Monday… At this point, I’ll just take it a day at a time, with that list.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing…
