“Anne, does Deuteronomy 22:5 mean that women should not wear pants? I mentioned this to a few friends, and they say that no, it just means we shouldn’t look like a man. My pastor’s wife is a very, very sweet woman that I look up to, and she says the [...]
The next question in my Juggling Life’s Responsibilities study guide is regarding these controversial verses from 1 Timothy 2.
“Do you think it’s fair to say women are more vulnerable than men to being deceived?”
My first reaction is that no, it doesn’t feel one bit fair. I don’t feel deceived! Not any more than anyone else, anyway! In fact, I jotted a note on my study page that “It feels like a woman sometimes sees things first in God’s Word. Then later, God opens her husband’s eyes to the same truth.”
If you’ve been homeschooling for any time at all, you’ve discovered the same secret I have. Children must be obedient if you’re going to enjoy teaching them! God says the same thing: “The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy [...]
Today’s post is simply a quote from my book, Juggling Life’s Responsibilities (pp. 34-36). We’ve spent several weeks now taking a quick overview of the roles God gives to women in His Word. He says He created us to be helpers to our husbands, mothers of children, managers of our [...]

I found the following great links online this week, and I couldn’t help but share. Here they are, in no particular order: Telephone Rules — Have you ever thought about how much easier it is for classroom teachers to actually get a lesson done, without the phone ringing off the [...]
“Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge” (Hebrews 13:4, KJV). It seems so gloomy to think about a day coming when I will stand before God to be judged. Thoughts like these don’t pass through my mind on a normal day, [...]

originally written by Anne on August 22, 2008 Today’s picture is of my husband’s very favorite way to make coffee – in a French press. He promises that coffee just tastes better when he uses freshly ground coffee, heats the water to exactly 200 degrees Fahrenheit, and allows it to [...]
Mrs. JoAnne Neiner is a dear pastor’s wife in Pittsfield, Massechusetts, and she spoke at a ladies’ retreat last spring. “School’s In Session: Gossip 101” was one of her topics. This session is full of practical (and biblical) ideas as she defines gossip and effectively shows solutions for taming our [...]
