Have you seen the news lately? Food shortages, gas costs skyrocketing, the housing market shaking, shipping containers delayed, social unrest, war and nuclear threats… It’s not pretty, is it?
We know that the Bible promises that He will call us home and Yeshua will reign as King. We know He makes amazing promises to His remnant, wherever we are scattered. We know that at that time, the wealth of the nations will flow into His people.
And we know His promises are TRUE and SURE, amen?
Here are some promises to keep handy next time the news makes you feel afraid or you are tempted to worry.
“And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they are a rebellious house” (Ezekiel 2:6).
“Since the days of our fathers to this day we have been very guilty, and for our iniquities we, our kings, and our priests have been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, to plunder, and to humiliation, as it is this day. And now for a little while grace has been shown from YHVH our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a peg in His holy place, that our God may enlighten our eyes and our bondage. For we were slaves. Yet our God did not forsake us in our bondage; but He extended mercy to us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to revive us…” (Ezra 9:7-9).
“And it shall come to pass in that day
That the remnant of Israel,
And such as have escaped of the house of Jacob,
Will never again depend on him who defeated them,
But will depend on YHVH, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
The remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob,
To the Mighty God.
For though your people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea,
A remnant of them will return;
The destruction decreed shall overflow with righteousness.
For YHVH God of hosts
Will make a determined end
In the midst of all the land” (Isaiah 10:20-23).
“And the remnant who have escaped of the house of Judah
Shall again take root downward,
And bear fruit upward.
For out of Jerusalem shall go a remnant,
And those who escape from Mount Zion.
The zeal of YHVH of hosts will do this” (Isaiah 37:31-32).
“Listen to Me, O house of Jacob,
And all the remnant of the house of Israel,
Who have been upheld by Me from birth,
Who have been carried from the womb:
Even to your old age, I am He,
And even to gray hairs I will carry you!
I have made, and I will bear;
Even I will carry, and will deliver you” (Isaiah 46:3-5).
“YHVH said:
‘Surely it will be well with your remnant;
Surely I will cause the enemy to intercede with you
In the time of adversity and in the time of affliction‘” (Jeremiah 15:11).
“‘But I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,’ says YHVH.
“‘Behold, the days are coming,’ says YHVH,
‘That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness;
A King shall reign and prosper,
And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.
In His days Judah will be saved,
And Israel will dwell safely;
Now this is His name by which He will be called:
YHVH OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS'” (Jeremiah 23:3-6).
“Yet I will leave a remnant, so that you may have some who escape the sword among the nations, when you are scattered through the countries. Then those of you who escape will remember Me among the nations where they are carried captive, because I was crushed by their adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols; they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations. And they shall know that I am YHVH; I have not said in vain that I would bring this calamity upon them” (Ezekiel 6:8-10).
“And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of YHVH
Shall be saved.
For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance,
As YHVH has said,
Among the remnant whom YHVH calls” (Joel 2:32).
“Then the remnant of Jacob
Shall be in the midst of many peoples,
Like dew from YHVH,
Like showers on the grass,
That tarry for no man
Nor wait for the sons of men.
And the remnant of Jacob
Shall be among the Gentiles,
In the midst of many peoples,
Like a lion among the beasts of the forest,
Like a young lion among flocks of sheep,
Who, if he passes through,
Both treads down and tears in pieces,
And none can deliver.
Your hand shall be lifted against your adversaries,
And all your enemies shall be cut off” (Micah 5:7-9).
“Who is a God like You,
Pardoning iniquity
And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage?
He does not retain His anger forever,
Because He delights in mercy” (Micah 7:18).
“The coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah;
They shall feed their flocks there;
In the houses of Ashkelon they shall lie down at evening.
For YHVH their God will intervene for them,
And return their captives.
‘I have heard the reproach of Moab,
And the insults of the people of Ammon,
With which they have reproached My people,
And made arrogant threats against their borders.
Therefore, as I live,’
Says YHVH of hosts, the God of Israel,
‘Surely Moab shall be like Sodom,
And the people of Ammon like Gomorrah—
Overrun with weeds and saltpits,
And a perpetual desolation.
The residue of My people shall plunder them,
And the remnant of My people shall possess them'” (Zephaniah 2:7-9).
“The remnant of Israel shall do no unrighteousness
And speak no lies,
Nor shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth;
For they shall feed their flocks and lie down,
And no one shall make them afraid” (Zephaniah 3:13).
“‘But now I will not treat the remnant of this people as in the former days,’ says YHVH of hosts.
‘For the seed shall be prosperous,
The vine shall give its fruit,
The ground shall give her increase,
And the heavens shall give their dew—
I will cause the remnant of this people
To possess all these.
And it shall come to pass
That just as you were a curse among the nations,
O house of Judah and house of Israel,
So I will save you, and you shall be a blessing.
Do not fear,
Let your hands be strong'” (Zechariah 8:11-13).
“Behold, the day of YHVH is coming,
And your spoil will be divided in your midst.
For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken,
The houses rifled,
And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity,
But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Then YHVH will go forth
And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle” (Zechariah 14:1-3).
