It’s the last day of 2019, and while I really don’t want to observe the Gregorian New Year, in the world we live in, it’s kinda tough not to acknowledge that a lot of things will be new tomorrow when 2020 starts.
And over the past several weeks, the Father has been telling me to make 2020 a year of PREPARATION. He wants to purify and beautify His Bride — and there are a couple ways I feel He is asking me to participate in this.
For instance, I looked back over my blog for 2019 — and did you know that THIS is my only post? Yikes! Yes! For the entire year!
There are a lot of reasons for that silence. I was certainly busy, especially caring for my family and then writing quite a bit of new curriculum.
But the Father has been urging me to prepare not only my own children, and not only lots of homeschooling children — but women, too!
It feels a bit like I’ve been a sponge this past year, soaking up the Word of God until I’m full and about to explode. It’s been really good!
So now it’s time to start squeezing that sponge out and sharing what He has taught me.
I’m planning to begin by writing a SHORT blog post each morning after I read my Bible and do my own study. I am in the habit of using Christine Miller’s chronological schedule to read through my Bible each year. It’s a fairly quick read every morning, usually 2 chapters in the Old Testament, one in Psalms or Proverbs, and one in the New Testament. In 2020, she is writing new Bible study posts to go with it (…and I thought the old ones were really great!). I’m eager to start over again tomorrow. I keep this link always open in a tab on my phone’s browser.
THIS is a fantastic habit to cultivate for the new year… and I hope you’ll join us. Just wake up early enough to make it a priority (and add a cup of coffee and cuddly cat if possible)… You can do it!
After I read my Bible, pray, and study a little bit of Hebrew, I’ll hop on my laptop and try to write up what I’ve learned, and anything else the Father is showing me. I mean to keep it raw and real. I also intend to get back to writing weekly Bible study posts on various topics, where I’ll probably polish things a bit more and eventually compile things into books.
Please join me!
