DAYBOOK ENTRY FOR MONDAY, MAY 4, 2009…
Outside my window… It is now dark. It’s been a sunny, warm, and beautiful day. Now it’s quiet and starting to get a little cloudy, with some late-night thunderstorms expected. It would be a nice night for a walk, but I’m here on my computer with you!
I am thinking… About how God orchestrates events and circumstances so differently that we would, but how He always knows what is best.
I am thankful for… the sound of little ones falling asleep… little snores, little sighs, so sweet.
From the learning rooms… We’re back to school after a week of achievement tests last week. The kids had a good time, and I enjoyed the rest. We’ll be starting a study of ancient Assyria. How cool!
From the kitchen… We’re having steak fajitas tomorrow night, which is one of my husband’s favorites. I hope I can make them turn out okay. Does anyone have a good way to make homemade tortillas WITHOUT a tortilla press? Mine are so thick!
I am wearing… A black shirt with beautiful embroidery and giant sleeves. I had to put rubber bands on those sleeves all day so they wouldn’t fall into the food or the dishwater.
I am creating… nothing tonight. Even God took time off from creating sometimes!
I am going… nowhere in particular this week. Maybe on some evening walks if it’s not raining.
I am reading… through the first few books of the Bible very quickly this week, for a post I’m writing in my e-zine this coming Friday. Ahh, the suspense… (Subscribe here.)
I am hearing… the sound of the ceiling fan, the motor on the refrigerator, the snoring of my dog.
Around the house… I’m going through some old fabric with a friend who wants to start her own sewing business. I can hardly sew on a button, so I’m going to give some of the fabric I have to her.
One of my favorite things… coconut milk in a smoothie (preferably with pineapple). Yum!
A few plans for the rest of the week… school in the mornings, work online in the afternoons, church activities some evenings, teens over at our house for an activity on Friday night, and my husband’s birthday this weekend.
